Traditional Hummus recipe
This is the classic hummus recipe, pureed to perfection with just the necessities: chickpeas, Tahini, lemon juice, and parsley. Pine nuts are not a critical garnish for the dish, but they add a sweet, nutty crunch that works well against the sweet, creamy quality of the dish.
Ingredients List:
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained, rinsed
1/3 cup Tahini
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 garlic cloves
½ teaspoon salt
2 to 4 tablespoons water, as needed
1 tablespoon toasted pine nuts, for garnish
Directions:
1. Place chickpeas, Tahini, lemon juice, oil, parsley, garlic, and salt in a food processor; pulse until smooth.
2. With machine running, add water until mixture thins to desired consistency.
3. Sprinkle with pine nuts and serve.
